Together, we explored the passageways that once served as critical links on the Underground Railroad trail. Our journey took us across land where the Potawatomi tribes once lived, and into the very homes and safe havens of abolitionists, including the historic Sheldon Peck House, the Blodgett House, and Graue Mill. Each stop offered powerful stories of courage, resilience, and the fight for freedom.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the Wheaton College Choir, whose stirring harmonies of Negro spirituals and gospel songs sent us off on our journey with voices that carried the spirit of history.

This tour was more than a trip—it was a living lesson in perseverance, community, and the enduring struggle for justice.

Stay tuned for the next date of this inspiring tour—we’d love to have you join us! And remember, South Side Tours is here for all of your transportation needs, whether you’re planning a community outing, a special event, or a personal journey.
